On 16 September 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry round of invitations #444 for the category Senior managers with Canadian work experience. The round issued 250 invitations to apply (ITAs). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was 389.

This is the third Senior Managers category round published on the IRCC rounds table in 2026, after 5 March (250 ITAs, CRS 429) and 10 July (500 ITAs, CRS 392). Round #444 followed two high-volume worker-focused rounds earlier the same week:

• #443 (15 September 2026): Canadian Experience Class, 2,000 ITAs, CRS 519
• #442 (14 September 2026): Provincial Nominee Program, 576 ITAs, CRS 734

Category-based Senior Managers selection remains distinct from those CEC and PNP worker rounds. Candidates still need an active Express Entry profile and eligibility under one of the federal economic programmes managed through Express Entry. When a Senior Managers ITA lands at CRS 389, the immediate pressure is documentary consistency, job duties, reporting lines, and business substance.

In partnership work, the files that move cleanly are the ones where the business case was built for immigration-grade scrutiny from day one: clear organisational charts, defensible active-management or executive duties, and financials that match the story told in the Express Entry work history.

Implications for business immigrants already managing in Canada

Opportunity framing for advisors:

1. Score accessibility. CRS 389 is materially below the CEC cut-offs published on 15 September (519) and 1 September (521). Profiles that were competitive for Senior Managers in July (392) remain in range if scores were maintained.
2. Volume discipline. 250 ITAs is half the July Senior Managers allotment. Advisors should treat invitation capacity as finite and prioritise profile hygiene rather than assuming another large round is imminent.
3. Parallel pathway hygiene. Clients on C11 owner-operator, ICT senior manager (C62), or PNP entrepreneur tracks should keep business-plan evidence, active-management proof, and job-creation logic current. An ITA does not replace the business-side work that may still be required for work-permit continuity or provincial nomination files.
4. Category fit. Confirm the National Occupational Classification (NOC) and duties truly map to senior management with Canadian work experience. Misaligned titles remain a common failure point in the file patterns we see.

What practitioners should do now

• Re-score Express Entry profiles for clients in senior management roles against CRS 389 and the 10 July benchmark of 392.
• Verify Canadian work-experience evidence (letters, org charts, payroll, T4/ROE where applicable) matches the category narrative.
• If a client holds or is preparing a C11 / ICT / PNP entrepreneur file, pressure-test active management, ownership/controlling interest, and job-creation logic so PR and work-permit stories stay aligned.
• Calendar the next IRCC rounds table update; confirm cut-off figures against canada.ca, not secondary summaries.
