Saturday, August 8, 2026 closed without a new government-confirmed entrepreneur draw or allocation change. That is the story. Federal Express Entry kept moving earlier this week, while the provincial capacity gates that actually bind most entrepreneur-to-PR files stayed frozen on their last official stamps.

This Business Immigration Watch is the empty-slot recap for practitioners who need a clean weekend read of what is live, what is held, and what to monitor next week. It is commentary on public program status, not immigration advice.

What moved federally this week

IRCC’s rounds table still shows the latest Express Entry result as the Transport Occupations category draw on August 7, 2026: round #434, 300 invitations, CRS 470, at 10:08:20 UTC, with a tie-break of October 11, 2025. That sits beside the French-language proficiency draw on August 6 (5,000 ITAs, CRS 391) and the Canadian Experience Class draw on August 5 (3,000 ITAs, CRS 516). Pool snapshot data published with the Transport round listed about 229,100 candidates as of August 3, including roughly 19,705 in the 501-600 band.

Separately, IRCC’s open consultation on Express Entry category priorities for 2027 (survey window through early September) remains the policy signal worth pairing with any founder who is using a work-permit runway toward economic PR. Category design does not replace provincial nomination capacity, but it shapes how C11 and ICT holders should time CRS-sensitive documentation.

Provincial entrepreneur gates: still capacity-bound

Alberta (AAIP). Alberta’s processing information page continues to show entrepreneur inventory pressure on the Table 8 snapshot last updated July 30, 2026. Our working read of that stamp remains approximately 60 allocation / 30 issued / 30 remaining against roughly 228 files in process, a ratio near 7.6:1. Until alberta.ca posts a new last-updated stamp, there is no standalone “new allocation” story to publish. Source: AAIP processing information.

British Columbia (BC PNP Entrepreneur). WelcomeBC’s Invitations to Apply page still lists the July 28, 2026 Base draw (minimum score 117, 10 ITAs) as the latest entrepreneur invitation set. Skills Immigration activity earlier in August does not reset the entrepreneur clock. Portal maintenance is flagged for August 11, 2026 (10 pm–3 am PT). That is operations noise, not a draw. Ontario (OINP). Workforce Priority remains the live employer-initiated lane after the August 4 launch. Entrepreneur remains unavailable. Portal downtime chatter without an ontario.ca primary notice is not a publishable program change.

Nova Scotia (NSNP). The September 1, 2026 application fee structure (entrepreneur $2,000; worker streams $1,000; EOI free; pre-selection grandfathering) is already on the record from the August 6 primary announcement. No new entrepreneur draw appeared today.

Other PNPs. No new government-confirmed entrepreneur invitations were detected for Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, PEI, or Newfoundland and Labrador in the last 24 hours.

What our files show

Across recent entrepreneur-to-PR file reviews, nomination capacity and documentation sequence are still deciding outcomes more often than capital floors. In one recent AAIP-facing set, community support letters and sector scoring left more points on the table than net-worth shortfalls. In dual-track BC/Alberta screens, market and labour fit, not the investment line, drove province switches. For federal work-permit files running in parallel (C11 and ICT), the same week’s Express Entry volume is useful context for PR sequencing, but it does not loosen AAIP Table 8 pressure or reopen BC Base invitations.

Opportunity framing for the week ahead

A quiet Saturday is useful when the binding constraints are already known. Files that front-load stream-specific business evidence (community letters before EOI where required, wage-dated projections, third-party corroboration of benefit or market claims) stay competitive while invitation windows stay thin. Capacity-aware planning beats waiting for a larger draw that the public tables have not yet shown.
